A versatile cut of pork, great for flavoursome stocks, jellies, sauces and pies. Pigs head is traditionally used for making brawn, ideal for slow cooking.. As well as breaking down the tissues and tenderising the meat, slow cooking renders out the collagen.

Description

Our free range pigs head comes from pigs that are free to roam throughout their lives and spend much of their time rooting in the earth.

Our free range pork is reared in a system that has health and welfare at its heart. These pigs are not certified organic but have the space to roam and root and eat a natural foraged based diet.

The pigs are reared on a high proportion of pasture approved foods including fresh pasture, local vegetables and lucerne silage. The pigs will receive some grains and a mix of foods to help them achieve essential nutrients such as copper sulphate. They are also reared without the use of routine antibiotics.

About Primal Meats

We aim to offer you nutrient dense meat from Farms who rear their animals to very high standards of welfare and manage their land in harmony with nature.
Our meats are perfect for those following diets based on ancestral wisdom as they are as close as possible to meats from the wild.

The beef, lamb, mutton and hogget are 100% grass fed and carry the “Pasture for life” logo, providing reassurance of nutrient quality and traceability amongst a world of misleading “grass fed meat” products. We offer certified organic or free-range chicken and our pork is organic raised (but not certified) and free to roam. Our wild game comes from estates across Scotland, the North of England and the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.
