It doesn’t come more versatile than this 500g pack of diced wild venison. Stews, casseroles, summer BBQs – the ideas are endless.
The venison comes from from estates in Lancashire and Cumbria. It is the product of sustainable land management. The Roe and Red deer are allowed to roam free over the many acres of land, eating naturally. This grazing contributes to the ecology of the landscape which has a number of benefits for the environment. Read more about the positive effects of this here
The difference in hunting techniques has changed however. We no longer need to go primal and arm ourselves with spears to get venison; our modern-day paleo hunters are the gamekeepers. These professionals stalk with extreme care which means the venison comes to us from a stress and fear-free environment.
The meat in this diced wild venison pack is packed with nutrients and vitamins, especially vitamin B and iron. Venison, particularly wild venison, tends to be lower in fat than beef, and the fatty acids present tend to be higher in Omega 3 (the good guys) lower in Omega 6 (the not-so-good guys). And of course, the deer have roamed free, eating a diet that is natural, balanced and right for their nutritional needs. All this goodness is passed to us in the meat. It’s perfectly Paleo.
There’s so much to do with this pack of diced wild venison it’s a good idea to have a couple of packs in the freezer on standby. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, a good casserole never goes amiss. Try this recipe for starters! Or if you really want to spice thins up, try this kebab recipe with north African roots
Our wild venison is sourced from estates which are covered by the 1991 Deer Act and within the correct season. Fortunately for we primal people, this means that venison is available to us all year round in one form or another – depending on species.
